Its operations are organized into two segments: Consumer (retail and end consumers) and Flavor Solutions (food manufacturers and foodservice customers); in 2025 the Consumer segment contributed about 58% of consolidated revenue and 67% of operating profit, with Flavor Solutions accounting for roughly 42% of revenue and 33% of operating profit. Position dans le secteur
McCormick is a leading global player in the mature, steadily growing and weakly cyclical spices, seasonings and food flavoring industry. In its 10-K the company describes itself as a global brand leader in the spices and seasonings category and a leading brand in sauces and condiments, and it cites Euromonitor data identifying McCormick as the world's number one spice company, Frank's RedHot as the world's number one hot sauce, and French's as the world's number one mustard. Its competitive moat rests on brand strength across spices, seasonings, hot sauce and mustard, broad retail channel coverage and category management on the Consumer side, and decades-long customer relationships, application R&D, sensory testing, food safety and formulation services on the Flavor Solutions side, reinforced by global raw-material procurement scale. Customer concentration differs by segment: in 2025 Walmart accounted for about 12% of consolidated sales and PepsiCo about 12%, while the top three Flavor Solutions customers together represented 49% of that segment's global sales. Peers in packaged foods and flavor ingredients include General Mills, Hershey, IFF, Hormel and Sensient.
