It originated as an industrialization platform within the Wuhan Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications and the Fiberhome (烽火) system rather than a founder-led startup. The company completed its A-share IPO on 2009-08-21, issuing 40 million shares at 16 yuan for a post-issue total of 160 million shares at a 35.37x P/E. Per its 2025 annual report, its main business has been unchanged since listing: R&D, production, and sale of optoelectronic chips, devices, modules, and subsystems.
