연혁

nVent traces its product brands to the early twentieth century, including ERICO (founded 1903 in Cleveland) and HOFFMAN (originating 1928). Its corporate parent, Pentair Inc., was founded in 1968 in Minnesota as an aerospace materials company and later assembled a combined water-and-electrical portfolio. In 2017 Pentair announced a plan to separate the two businesses, and on April 30, 2018 nVent Electric plc began trading independently on the NYSE, opening at roughly $25. The company is headquartered in London, United Kingdom, with Ireland as its registration domicile, and employs about 12,000 people. After the spin-off nVent pursued bolt-on acquisitions: Eldon Holding of Sweden in 2019 to strengthen the European enclosures market, and ECM Industries for about $1.1 billion in May 2023, its first large deal post-separation. From 2024 onward it executed a major restructuring: it acquired Trachte LLC for $687.5 million in July 2024 (modular data-center buildings), divested its Thermal Management business (RAYCHEM brand) to Brookfield Asset Management for $1.7 billion in January 2025, and acquired Avail Electrical Products Group for about $975 million in May 2025 (switchgear and power distribution). The two acquisitions deployed roughly $1.66 billion while the divestiture recovered $1.7 billion, shifting the portfolio toward data-center infrastructure. In September 2025 CEO Beth Wozniak announced her retirement; Chris Allexandre, a former Schneider Electric executive who joined in 2025 as COO, succeeded her, effective August 31, 2025. For fiscal 2024 the company reported revenue of about $3.35 billion and an operating margin near 20%, with 14 consecutive years of dividend increases.

업계 내 위치

nVent Electric plc designs, manufactures, markets, installs, and services electrical connection and protection solutions across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa, Asia Pacific, and internationally, operating in two reported segments, Systems Protection and Electrical Connections. Following its 2025 restructuring it organizes around three areas: Enclosures, its largest area at roughly 50%+ of revenue (brands HOFFMAN, SCHROFF, and TRACER); Electrical & Fastening Solutions at about 25-30% of revenue (brands ERICO, CADDY, ERIFLEX, and NUHEAT); and Systems Protection / Power Solutions, formed after the Avail EPG acquisition, covering low- and medium-voltage switchgear and distribution boards. It markets products through electrical distributors, retail, contractors, and original equipment manufacturers under the nVent CADDY, ERICO, HOFFMAN, ILSCO, SCHROFF, and TRACHTE brands, serving data centers, commercial buildings, industrial manufacturing, power infrastructure, rail transit, and medical applications. Its position rests on brands with 30+ year histories that create switching costs through engineers' established reliance on product SKUs and installation specifications, on integrating third-party components into manufacturable enclosures and modular units, on a network of 100+ distribution centers and 5,000+ channel partners, and on UL, CSA, CE, and CCC certifications. Direct competitors include Vertiv, Eaton, Schneider Electric, Hubbell, and Generac/GE Vernova. The competitive structure has shifted: nVent announced a collaboration with NVIDIA in November 2024 around high-density cooling for the GB200 NVL72 platform and entered a Siemens-Fluence reference design in 2026, while Vertiv holds NVIDIA's sole thermal-management reference position for the Vera Rubin platform; Eaton acquired Boyd Thermal for $9.5 billion in March 2026, and Ecolab acquired CoolIT, a core cold-plate supplier to nVent, for $4.75 billion. AI hyperscalers (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Oracle) are estimated to contribute about 20-25% of revenue.
