Blackstone Inc. is an alternative asset management firm specializing in private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge fund solutions, credit, secondary funds of funds, public debt and equity and multi-asset class strategies. The firm typically invests in early-stage, seed, middle market, mature, late venture, growth capital, emerging growth, turnaround, and later stage companies. It also provide capital markets services. Geschichte
Blackstone Inc. completed its initial public offering on June 22, 2007. Over the years it broadened from an alternative asset manager focused mainly on institutional clients into a platform also covering insurance and wealth channels, and shifted its revenue mix from more volatile realized carried interest toward steadier fee-earning AUM and perpetual capital. In its 2025 annual report the firm defines itself as the world's largest alternative asset manager, organized into four main segments: real estate, private equity, credit and insurance, and multi-asset investing.

Blackstone describes itself as the world's leading alternative asset management platform, with AUM over $1.3 trillion (1.304 trillion as of 1Q26), including fee-earning AUM of $937.6 billion and perpetual capital of $539.7 billion. Its private wealth channel AUM has reached $310 billion. Among peers, Apollo had roughly $1.03 trillion in AUM and Ares over $644 billion as of 1Q26, with KKR another global leading platform; Blackstone, Apollo and KKR sit in the first tier while Ares is a fast-growing but smaller challenger.
