The company offers insurance, annuities, employee benefits, and asset management worldwide. In 2025 it completed a strategic restructuring into six operating segments: Group Benefits, Retirement & Income Solutions, Asia, Latin America, EMEA, and MetLife Investment Management (MIM). At the end of 2025 it completed the acquisition of PineBridge to expand MIM's scale, capabilities, and global distribution, with net purchases of businesses of about $738 million that year.
