Geschichte

Qnity Electronics, Inc. was incorporated in 2024 as Novus SpinCo 1, Inc. and changed its name to Qnity Electronics in April 2025; it is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware. The company was spun off from DuPont, with the separation and independent listing completed in November 2025, and in the process it assumed approximately 4.1 billion dollars of debt transferred to DuPont. It operates through two segments, Semiconductor Technologies and Interconnect Solutions, and employs about 10,000 people. In 2025 the company generated revenue of 4.754 billion dollars, split between Semiconductor Technologies at 2.642 billion and Interconnect Solutions at 2.112 billion. After listing it began paying a dividend in late 2025, and in February 2026 its board approved a 500 million dollar repurchase program, buying back about 220,000 shares in March 2026 at an average price of 113.78 dollars. The former CFO departed in January 2026 for health reasons, with an interim CFO appointed.

Branchenposition

Qnity supplies materials and solutions to the semiconductor and electronics industries worldwide, with its Semiconductor Technologies segment covering wafer-fabrication materials qualified into customer process roadmaps and its Interconnect Solutions segment covering signal integrity, thermal management, power management and advanced packaging materials. Its customer base spans the global electronics and semiconductor value chain: management discloses that its top ten customers have an average relationship of more than 30 years and include nearly all of the world's top 20 semiconductor manufacturers, with the top ten contributing 34% of 2025 revenue, of which Samsung was 11% and TSMC 8%. The company describes itself as one of the largest electronics materials suppliers and, at its 2025 Investor Day, put its serviceable market at over 30 billion dollars, roughly two-thirds of which is directly semiconductor-related. Its main competitors named in its 10-K are Entegris, Merck KGaA, Resonac, Element Solutions and MKS Instruments. Differentiation rests on switching costs from products being qualified into customer roadmaps, a portfolio of roughly 7,000 global patents and applications (about 80% with more than five years of remaining term), industrial brands such as Kalrez, Kapton and Laird, and a local-for-local supply model under which about 70% of raw materials are sourced domestically; about 79% of 2025 sales came from Asia-Pacific and about 33% from China.
