Geschichte

Rollins, Inc. was founded in 1901 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It was formerly known as Rollins Broadcasting, Inc. and changed its name to Rollins, Inc. in 1965, and went public on December 30, 1987. The company has built its pest and wildlife control operations around a portfolio of brands including Orkin, Fox Pest Control, Northwest Exterminating, Clark Pest Control, HomeTeam, and Critter Control, expanding both organically and through acquisitions that management treats as a source of roughly 2%-3% of mid-term annual growth. Revenue grew from $2.015 billion in 2019 to $3.761 billion in 2025, and by May 2026 the company served more than 2.8 million customers through over 850 company-owned and franchise locations with around 22,000 employees. The company reports 25 consecutive years of revenue and adjusted EBITDA growth, and the first quarter of 2026 marked its 98th consecutive quarter of revenue growth. The CEO and Chairman roles have been separated, and in May 2026 the company announced that CFO Kenneth Krause would depart in mid-June, with William Harkins succeeding him.

Branchenposition

Rollins is one of the leading companies in the U.S. pest control industry, which IBISWorld estimated at about $29.7 billion in 2026 with a roughly 3.4% compound annual growth rate over 2021-2026 and identified Rentokil, Rollins, and Ecolab as the industry's top firms. The market is highly fragmented: IBISWorld counted 34,076 firms in 2026, while NPMA's 2025 study counted 16,565 pest control companies, of which 81.4% operated only one or two locations. Against this long tail of small local operators, Rollins competes through a cross-brand, cross-region network, more than 450 trademarks, and recurring and ancillary service revenue that exceeds 80% of total revenue, with the company stating that losing the Orkin trademark could materially affect the overall business. Its competitive position rests on operating advantages such as route density, recruiting and training systems, shared back-office functions, and advertising efficiency rather than input-cost advantages, and the company has demonstrated pricing power, raising its 2024 gross margin to 52.7% while stating that pricing outpaced inflation. Its principal competitors are Rentokil, whose pest control revenue was about $5.703 billion in 2025, and Ecolab.
