The company operates through four divisions: Device eXperience (DX), Device Solutions (DS), SDC, and Harman. The company offers smartphones, tablets, audio sounds, watches, switches, and accessories; TVs, and sound devices; appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines and dryers, vacuum cleaners, cooking appliances, dishwashers, air conditioners, and air purifiers; monitors and memory storage products; displays, and smart and LED signages; and other accessories. It also engages in venture capital investments, cloud services, network devices installation, semiconductor equipment services, digital advertising platforms, marketing, consulting, connected services provider, logistics, financing, and software design activities. In addition, the company provides toll processing and sales of semiconductors and display panels; development and sale of network solutions; manufacture of semiconductors and food; the provision of repair services for electronic devices; and development and supply of semiconductor process defect and quality control software, as well as digital televisions, foundry, system large scale integration (LSI). Further, it provides connected car systems, audio and visual products, enterprise automation solutions, and connected services. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 1969 and is based in Suwon-si, South Korea.

History

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. was founded in 1969 and listed on the Korea Exchange in 1975. The company is organized into four divisions: DX (digital TVs, refrigerators, smartphones and network equipment), DS (memory, foundry and System LSI), SDC (display panels) and Harman (connected car, audio/video and enterprise automation and connectivity services). It has grown into an integrated platform spanning consumer electronics, memory, displays and automotive electronics, and in 2025 reported record revenue of 333.6 trillion KRW.

Industry position

Samsung holds leading positions across several distinct industries. Per TrendForce, in Q4 2025 it held roughly 36% of DRAM revenue share (regaining first place) and about 28% of the NAND market (also first), while ranking second in pure foundry at around 7.1%. Per Omdia, it has led the global television market for 19 consecutive years. In smartphones, a mature market that grew about 2% in 2025, it ranked second with 19% share behind Apple's 20%. Its advantages span brand, scale, vertical integration and deep technology barriers in memory process, advanced packaging, OLED and foundry nodes. Competitively, SK hynix holds a first-mover advantage in HBM, while TSMC leads advanced foundry, with 74% of its 2025 wafer revenue from advanced process nodes.
