The company completed its IPO on September 19, 2019. It has since evolved from a monitoring tool into a unified observability, security, and AI platform. In 2025, Datadog made three acquisitions for total consideration of about $178.4 million (including $109.3 million cash, about $16.1 million holdback, and 770,000 restricted shares), and issued $1 billion of 0% convertible notes due 2029, raising net proceeds of about $979.1 million.
