As a holding company, it operates through subsidiaries including the traditional electric utilities Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and Mississippi Power. The company has raised its dividend for 25 consecutive years and has not paid a dividend below the prior year for 79 years, and in April 2026 it increased its annualized dividend to $3.04 per share. Its Vogtle units 3 and 4 have been placed in service and entered the rate base.
