Historia

Hon Hai Precision Industry was founded in 1974 by Terry Gou in Tucheng, Taipei, starting with plastic parts and connectors before expanding into PC connectors and contract assembly. After winning Apple iPod and later iPhone orders in the 2000s, it became the world's largest electronics contract manufacturer. Listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under code 2317 and headquartered in New Taipei City, it adopted a "3+3" strategy under chairman Young Liu from 2019.

Posición en el sector

Hon Hai, known as Foxconn, is the world's largest electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider, with global EMS market share above 40% and FY2025 revenue of NT$8.10 trillion; Apple historically accounted for roughly half of its revenue. It is the leading contract manufacturer of NVIDIA NVL72 AI-server racks at about 40% share. Its scale and vertical integration into power, liquid cooling and connectors underpin an industry-low cost base, though gross margin stays near 6%.
