Further, the company provides design, distribution, and installation services for interior surface finishes to home builders and property managers. It sells its national brand-name merchandise and private brand products to professional customers, individual homeowners, and renters. The company serves its products through Lowes.com website, mobile applications, retail home improvement stores and outlet stores, and its branches. Lowe's Companies, Inc. was founded in 1921 and is based in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Lowe's Companies, Inc. was founded in 1921 and is based in Mooresville, North Carolina. The company completed its IPO on July 1, 1985, and has increased its dividend continuously since 1961. In FY2023, results were affected by the sale of its Canadian retail business. In 2025, Lowe's completed two acquisitions, ADG and FBM, expanding into a roughly $50 billion new-home interior surface finishes design, distribution, and installation market and strengthening its Pro capabilities through FBM's 370-plus locations, with the two deals adding more than 540 branch locations.
