Oracle Corporation was founded in 1977 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with its shares having gone public on 1986-03-12. In 2022 it completed its acquisition of Cerner for a transaction value of about $28.3 billion, the largest acquisition in the company's history, which brought it a healthcare IT platform (Oracle Health). In September 2025, the company underwent a major management change: Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia were elevated to co-CEOs, Safra Catz moved to executive vice chairman, and Larry Ellison continued as chairman and CTO.
