In August 2025, EOG completed the acquisition of Encino for $5.7 billion (including net debt), gaining 675,000 core net acres of Utica assets.

EOG Resources is a U.S. independent upstream oil and gas E&P company that explores for, develops, produces, and markets crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGL), and natural gas in producing basins in the United States, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and internationally. At the end of 2025 its total proved reserves were about 5.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent, and in Q1 2026 daily production was roughly 548,500 barrels of oil, 337,000 barrels of NGL, and 3.035 Bcf of natural gas. It develops high-return regions including Delaware, Eagle Ford, Dorado, and Utica, and employs about 3,400 people. Its strongest competitor is ConocoPhillips.
