GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of products, services, and complementary digital solutions used in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients in the United States, Canada, and internationally. The company operates through four segments: Imaging, Advanced Visualization Solutions (AVS), Patient Care Solutions (PCS), and Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx). The Imaging segment offers molecular imaging, computed tomography (CT) scanning, magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, X-ray systems, and women's health products. The AVS segment provides ultrasound, image guided therapies, and interventional solutions for screening, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of certain diseases in clinical areas, such as women's health, cardiovascular, and comprehensive care ultrasound as well as surgical visualization and guidance products. The PCS segment provides medical devices, consumables, services, and digital solutions. Its portfolio includes patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology, consumables and services, digital solutions, maternal infant care, and anesthesia products. The PDx segment supplies diagnostic agents, including CT, angiography and X-ray, MR, single-photon emission computed tomography, and positron emission tomography to the radiology and nuclear medicine industries. The segment also provides contrast media pharmaceuticals that are administered to a patient prior to certain diagnostic scans to increase the visibility of tissues or structures during imaging exams; and molecular imaging agents or radiopharmaceuticals, which are molecular tracers labeled with radioisotopes. The company has a strategic collaboration with DeepHealth. GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. was formerly known as GE Healthcare Holding LLC and changed its name to GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. in December 2022. The company was incorporated in 2022 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Historique

GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. was incorporated in 2022 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Formerly known as GE Healthcare Holding LLC, it adopted its current name in December 2022 and was listed as an independent company on January 4, 2023. The business is organized into four segments—Imaging, Advanced Visualization Solutions (AVS), Patient Care Solutions (PCS), and Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx)—and from the second quarter of 2026 the company merges Imaging and AVS into a new AIS segment to better reflect how management runs the operation. Since listing, GE HealthCare has expanded its digital, AI, and pharmaceutical-diagnostics capabilities through acquisitions including MIM (imaging analysis and AI), icometrix (brain imaging), NMP (pharmaceutical diagnostics), and Intelerad (enterprise imaging cloud and outpatient settings) for roughly 2.297 billion U.S. dollars. The company also has a strategic collaboration with DeepHealth, and by 2025 it employed about 54,000 people, generating revenue of 20.625 billion U.S. dollars.

Position dans le secteur

GE HealthCare is a global medical technology and pharmaceutical-diagnostics company with 2025 revenue of 20.625 billion U.S. dollars, split between 13.661 billion in product revenue and 6.964 billion in service revenue (services about 34% of the total). According to Signify Research in 2025, it remained number one in the global medical imaging market, though its lead over Siemens Healthineers and Philips was not large, making the field closer to an oligopoly led by a few global players than a monopoly. The company serves public, private, and academic healthcare and research institutions across more than 160 countries, supported by roughly 9,800 salespeople and 8,300 field service engineers, with manufacturing, assembly, and pharmaceutical production across 44 facilities in 17 countries. Its competitive position rests on brand, an installed base of about 5 million devices worldwide, a service network that covers both its own and non-GE HealthCare equipment, workflow switching costs, and regulatory and quality barriers; the company also reported 115 AI-related FDA authorizations in 2025, more than any other medtech company. Replicating such global installed, after-sales, compliance, R&D, and channel capabilities is difficult, while the business lacks classic network effects and a pronounced pure cost advantage.
