沿革
Yageo Corporation was founded in 1977 and is headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan, initially making basic electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, antennas, wireless components, and protection devices. Its company milestones place the 2000 Philips component business, 2018 Pulse, 2019 KEMET, and 2025 Shibaura on one acquisition-driven line, expanding its product basket from resistors and capacitors into magnetics, tantalum capacitors, and sensors. KEMET, a global leader in high-end tantalum capacitors with over 1,600 patents and trademarks, broadened its customer, regional, and end-application reach; in October 2025 Yageo secured a majority of Shibaura through a tender offer at JPY 7,130 per share. Chairman Chen Tai-Ming has led the company since 1993, with President Wang Tan-Ju in place since 2020 and CFO Eddie Chen since 2021.
業界での地位
Yageo is a high-end passive component and sensor platform whose products span MLCCs, tantalum capacitors, and chip resistors, operating 65 production sites across 25 countries under a "China+24" supply network serving 270,000 customers, with about 75% of revenue from AI, automotive, industrial, medical, and aerospace applications and AI-related revenue around 15%. Its most representative comparables are Murata, TDK, Taiyo Yuden, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, which together cover high-end MLCCs, automotive/industrial grades, AI servers, and global design-in. Relative to peers, Yageo holds a more complete portfolio than Taiyo Yuden and is more focused on high-value passive components than TDK, while its base material and top-tier process barriers remain below Murata's. In 1Q26 its gross margin reached 38.1%, operating margin 25.2%, and net profit attributable to the parent was NT$8.001 billion.
