Astera Labs, Inc. was incorporated in 2017 by three former Texas Instruments engineers: Jitendra Mohan (CEO), Sanjay Gajendra (President/COO), and Casey Morrison (product). Its first product line was the Aries PCIe retimer, and it later expanded to Taurus (Ethernet smart cable modules) and Leo (CXL memory controller), unifying its hardware under the COSMOS software and an Intelligent Connectivity Platform positioning. On 2024-03-20 it listed on Nasdaq at an IPO price of $36, closing the first day at $62.03 (+72%) and raising about $713 million. After listing it launched the Scorpio fabric switch (P series and X series), joined the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion ecosystem in 2025-05, and acquired photonic chiplet capability in 2025-12.
