業界での地位

Cincinnati Financial is a mid-sized U.S. property and casualty insurer operating in a mature, fragmented industry where the top 10 groups held about 47.87% combined market share and the top 25 about 65.71% per NAIC 2025 data. The company ranked 23rd with roughly 0.86% overall market share, and 15th in homeowners multiple peril with about 1.01% share, making it a competitive mid-cap player rather than an industry leader. Its principal larger and higher-quality comparables include Chubb, Travelers, Progressive, and Allstate; in the first quarter of 2026 Chubb posted an 84.0% P&C combined ratio and Travelers an 88.6% combined ratio with 19.7% core ROE, versus 95.6% for Cincinnati Financial. The company's competitive advantages stem from its committed network of independent agents, a local decision-making operating structure supported by 940 local field claims representatives emphasizing same-day claims service and pre-event catastrophe deployment, strong financial-strength ratings (A.M. Best A+, Fitch AA-, Moody's A1, S&P A+ as of the end of 2025), and cross-selling across the same agency network, with about 84% of property-casualty agents also selling Cincinnati Life products and roughly 62% of term and other life premiums coming from property-casualty agency relationships.
