The company serves utilities, independent power producers, project developers, municipal energy producers, engineering, procurement, and construction companies, oil and gas, transmission and distribution system operators, and industrial and infrastructure customers. Siemens Energy AG traces its roots to 1866 and is based in Munich, Germany. It was spun off from Siemens AG and listed in Frankfurt on 2020-09-28 (opening at €22.01), inheriting Siemens' power-engineering heritage. In FY2023 it reported a net loss of €4.59B amid a Siemens Gamesa wind-turbine quality crisis; the company fully acquired Siemens Gamesa in 2023. By FY2025 it returned to a net income of €1,685m with pretax free cash flow of €4,663m, and in June 2025 the government guarantee obtained during the crisis was fully released. Its fiscal year ends in September.
