沿革
Ingersoll Rand Inc. was founded in 1859 and is headquartered in Davidson, North Carolina. The company was formerly known as Gardner Denver Holdings, Inc. and changed its name to Ingersoll Rand Inc. in March 2020; it had completed its IPO on May 12, 2017. It operates through two reporting segments, Industrial Technologies and Services and Precision and Science Technologies, and markets its equipment, aftermarket parts, consumables and services across more than 35 brands, including Ingersoll Rand, Gardner Denver, Nash, CompAir, and Elmo Rietschle. The business has grown substantially as a multi-brand industrial platform, with revenue rising from $5,152.4 million in 2021 to $7,650.9 million in 2025 (the Industrial Technologies and Services segment contributed $6,056 million and Precision and Science Technologies $1,595 million in 2025). Growth has relied heavily on bolt-on and larger acquisitions: the company completed the ILC Dover acquisition in 2024 for initial cash consideration of $2,349.7 million, and in 2025 closed additional deals including SSI, TMIC/Adicomp, and Transvac. As of 2025 it operated more than 60 key manufacturing facilities and more than 50 service and repair centers, with approximately 21,000 employees.
業界での地位
Ingersoll Rand operates in the Industrials sector within specialty industrial machinery, supplying mission-critical air, fluid, clean energy, and medical technologies. Its end markets are broad and fragmented, spanning industrial manufacturing, transportation, chemicals, food and beverage, clean energy, water and wastewater, life sciences, and agriculture, sold through direct sales representatives, OEMs, EPCs, and independent distributors. In its 10-K the company describes the compression, vacuum, and blower markets as highly fragmented despite the presence of several large manufacturers, owing to diverse product technologies, applications, and sales channels; named competitors include Atlas Copco, Flowserve, IDEX, Kaeser, Kaishan, and Elgi, and within Precision and Science Technologies, Dover, Graco, Sartorius, Thermo Fisher, and Watson-Marlow. The company's competitive position rests on a complex moat: its products are typically only a small part of a customer's overall system cost yet are critical to system reliability, so customers value application expertise, product reliability, and service responsiveness, supporting pricing power (price increases contributed $397 million to 2023 revenue growth). A large installed base generates recurring aftermarket parts, consumables, and service revenue, which represented 36.5% of total revenue in 2025, reinforced by a global manufacturing and service network and a strategic alliance with Garrett Motion.
