In 2025 it acquired Deribit to extend its global crypto derivatives capabilities, and its subsidiary Coinbase Derivatives, LLC operates as a U.S. designated contract market. In February 2025 the SEC dismissed its civil enforcement action against Coinbase, which had originally been filed in 2023.
