Coinbase Global, Inc. was founded in 2012 and is based in New York, New York. The company completed its IPO on 2021-04-14. In 2025 it acquired Deribit to extend its global crypto derivatives capabilities, and its subsidiary Coinbase Derivatives, LLC operates as a U.S. designated contract market. In February 2025 the SEC dismissed its civil enforcement action against Coinbase, which had originally been filed in 2023.
