Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. manufactures and sells heavy machinery worldwide. It operates through four segments: Energy Systems; Plants & Infrastructure Systems; Logistics, Thermal & Drive Systems; and Aircraft, Defense & Space segments. The company offers thermal, renewable energy, nuclear power generation, engine power plants, and oil and gas production plants, as well as distributed power for total energy solutions and fuel cells; civil aircrafts and aeroengines, aviation equipment, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircrafts; and MHI launch services, rocket engines, human spaceflight and exploration related equipment, rocket launch facility, rocket engine combustion test facility, and satellite/components. It also provides cruise ships and ferries, LNG and LPG carrier, commercial and special purpose ships, marine machinery, marine boiler, marine turbine, marine solution, marine high speed engines, and marine structures, as well as engineering business; transportation and intelligent transport systems; logistics and material handling machinery; and environment products. In addition, the company offers rubber and tire machinery, turbochargers, car air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, testing equipment, and engine; printing machinery, paper converting machinery, metals machinery, compressors and mechanical turbines, hydraulic components, particle accelerator, pumps, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, carrier systems, special systems, food and packaging machinery, and testing equipment; and control systems, gas holder, vibration control systems, water pipes, tunnel excavation machinery, and data center. Further, it provides living and leisure; defense products comprising special vehicles, naval ship and maritime systems, defense aircraft, helicopter, defense aeroengine, guided weapon systems, and cybersecurity; and engineering products. The company was founded in 1884 and is headquartered in Chiyoda, Japan.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI / 7011.TSE) was founded in 1884, when Mitsubishi founder Iwasaki Yataro took over the Nagasaki Shipyard in Nagasaki. It went through a pre-war merger, was dissolved by GHQ into three companies after the war, and was reorganized in 1964 when the three firms merged. In April 2024 it carried out a 10-for-1 stock split. In April 2024 Eisaku Ito became CEO, with predecessor Seiji Izumisawa moving up to chairman. Australia selected its upgraded Mogami-class frigate in August 2025, with the AU$10 bn contract formally signed in April 2026.

MHI is one of Japan's three major heavy-industry groups, alongside Kawasaki Heavy Industries (7012) and IHI (7013), and is the largest of the three by scale, with revenue about 2.4x Kawasaki and 3.2x IHI. It operates through four segments: Energy Systems; Plants & Infrastructure Systems; Logistics, Thermal & Drive Systems; and Aircraft, Defense & Space. In gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power generation it is one of only three makers worldwide capable of building large H/JAC-class turbines, alongside Siemens Energy and GE Vernova, with market shares around 35-35-30. FY2025 revenue was JPY 4,974.1 bn and the order backlog reached JPY 13,237.6 bn.
