História

In 1999 Astra AB merged with the UK's Zeneca PLC to form AstraZeneca PLC (formerly Zeneca Group PLC; incorporated in 1992, headquartered in Cambridge, UK). After Pascal Soriot became CEO in October 2012, the company shifted toward oncology, CVRM, and biologics, deepened its Daiichi Sankyo ADC collaboration in 2019, and acquired Alexion for $39 billion in 2021 to enter rare disease. In February 2026 it moved its US listing to direct common shares on the NYSE, with the prior ADS delisted on 2026-01-30.
