Today the firm owns or controls more than 10 million acres of timberlands in the U.S., as well as additional public timberlands managed under long-term licenses in Canada. Weyerhaeuser has been a global leader in sustainability for more than a century and manages 100 percent of its timberlands on a fully sustainable basis in compliance with internationally recognized sustainable forestry standards. Weyerhaeuser is also one of the largest manufacturers of wood products in North America and operates additional business lines around product distribution, climate solutions, real estate, energy and natural resources, among others. In 2025, the company generated 6.9 billion US dollars in net sales and employed approximately 9,500 people who serve customers worldwide. História
Weyerhaeuser Company began operations in 1900 and was incorporated that same year in Washington State; it is based in Seattle and listed via an IPO dated 1973-05-03. The company grew into one of the world's largest private owners of timberlands, today owning or controlling more than 10 million acres (about 10.4 million acres) of U.S. timberlands and managing additional public timberlands under long-term licenses in Canada, while also becoming one of the largest manufacturers of wood products in North America. Its operations are organized around three businesses: Timberlands (growing, managing and harvesting timber, plus logs, standing timber and recreational leases); the segment formerly named Real Estate, Energy & Natural Resources, renamed Strategic Land Solutions from the first quarter of 2026 and incorporating Climate Solutions; and Wood Products (structural lumber, OSB, engineered wood products and building-materials distribution). Weyerhaeuser is operated as a real estate investment trust (REIT), and its common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol WY. In 2025 the company generated $6.9 billion in net sales and employed approximately 9,500 people (about 9,517). Devin Stockfish has served as president and CEO since January 2019. In 2025 the company was building a new TimberStrand engineered-wood facility in Monticello, Arkansas, a total investment of about $500 million expected to begin operations in 2027, and at its 2025 investor day set a target of $1.5 billion in incremental Adjusted EBITDA by 2030, including roughly $250 million of annual Adjusted EBITDA from Climate Solutions by 2030.
Posição no setor
Weyerhaeuser is one of the most important timberland and wood-products platforms in North America rather than a single strongest manufacturer. It owns or controls about 10.4 million acres of U.S. timberland, a base that is notably larger than peers: in October 2025 Rayonier and PotlatchDeltic announced a merger, completed in January 2026, that created a combined holding of roughly 4.2 million acres, well below Weyerhaeuser's scale (Rayonier reported 2025 Adjusted EBITDA of $248 million, indicating a materially different size and mix). Wood Products remains the revenue majority: in 2024 external revenue was about $5.221 billion from Wood Products, about $1.512 billion from Timberlands and about $0.391 billion from Real Estate & ENR. Its competitors include other North American timber REITs and manufacturing-focused wood-products companies. The company's advantages stem not from brand but from scale, geographic endowment, asset scarcity, its asset portfolio and capital-market access, supported by an "AVO 2.0" operating system that combines remote sensing, satellite imagery, machine learning and advanced data analytics to optimize the highest-value use of each acre. End-market pricing power is limited because Wood Products is a commoditized business; its Timberlands customers are sawmills, export channels and other timber customers, while Wood Products serves residential, multifamily, industrial and light-commercial construction.
