Loews Corporation, through its subsidiaries, provides commercial property and casualty insurance in the United States and internationally. The company offers specialty insurance products, such as management and professional liability and other coverage products; surety and fidelity bonds; professional liability coverages and risk management services to various professional firms, including architects, real estate agents, and accounting and law firms; standard and excess property, marine and boiler, machinery coverages, workers' compensation, general and product liability, commercial auto, umbrella, excess and surplus coverages, specialized loss-sensitive insurance programs, total risk management services relating to claim and information services; directors and officers, errors and omissions, employment practices, fiduciary, fidelity, and cyber coverages, as well as for small and mid-size firms, public and privately held firms, and not-for-profit organizations; and insurance products to serve the health care industry, including professional and general liability, as well as associated casualty coverage to aging services, allied medical facilities, dentists, physicians, nurses, and other medical practitioners. It also provides warranty and alternative risk, and run-off long-term care insurance products; ethane supply and transportation services for petrochemical customers, as well as transports and stores natural gas and natural gas liquids; operates a chain of hotels; develops, manufactures, and markets a range of extrusion blow-molded and injection molded plastic containers; and manufactures commodities and differentiated plastic resins. The company markets its insurance products and services through a network of retail and wholesale brokers, independent agents, brokers, and managing general underwriters. It also holds an approximately 53% non-consolidated interest in Altium Packaging. In 2025, CNA contributed about 81.2% of Loews's consolidated total revenue, Boardwalk about 12.6%, and the hotel business about 5.1%, with the remainder from parent-company investment income and the Altium equity-method stake. Reflecting a long-running emphasis on per-share value over expansion, Loews has retired roughly 45% of its outstanding share base since the end of 2014, reducing share count from about 248.4 million at year-end 2021 to about 206.0 million at year-end 2025. As of March 31, 2026, Boardwalk reported a firm-contract backlog of about $19.7 billion (up from about $9.7 billion at the end of 2023), with more than 87% of future contracted revenue from investment-grade customers and roughly 86% of trailing-twelve-month revenue derived from firm capacity reservation charges. Loews Hotels operates a chain of hotels reaching 18,656 system rooms as of the first quarter of 2026, with positioning concentrated near meeting, theme-park, and stadium demand generators, including a joint-venture relationship at Universal Orlando. Altium Packaging develops, manufactures, and markets extrusion blow-molded and injection-molded plastic containers and plastic resins for food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, and household-products end markets, competing on a national manufacturing footprint, long-term customer relationships, scale, and recycled-resin capability.
