The Home Depot, Inc. was incorporated in 1978 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and went public on September 22, 1981. The company has paid a quarterly cash dividend since 1987. More recently it expanded its professional-distribution capabilities through acquisitions, with the SRS transaction valued at about $18.028 billion and the GMS transaction at about $5.081 billion; following the SRS purchase it suspended share repurchases beginning in March 2024 to prioritize debt reduction.
