沿革
VeriSilicon Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 2001 and is headquartered in Shanghai, China, operating as a provider of platform-based custom silicon and semiconductor IP licensing services. The business is organized into three segments: One-Stop Chip Customization Services (subdivided into chip design and chip mass-production), Semiconductor IP Licensing (upfront licensing fees plus royalties collected after customers reach mass production), and Others. Over time the company built a portfolio of self-controllable processor IP spanning GPU, NPU, VPU, DSP, ISP and display processors, plus more than 1,700 mixed-signal, RF and interface IP, with successful tape-out experience across 14nm/10nm/7nm/6nm/5nm/4nm FinFET and 28nm/22nm FD-SOI nodes. It raised roughly RMB 1.678 billion in net proceeds in its 2020 IPO, raised RMB 1.807 billion in a July 2025 private placement, and in 2026 was pursuing an H-share listing; total shares outstanding rose from about 500.4 million at end-2024 to about 525.9 million at end-2025. The chairman and president is Dai Weimin; the company has no actual controller, with largest shareholder VeriSilicon Limited holding 11.39% and Dai Weimin personally 1.66% (acting in concert, about 13.058%) at end-2025. The company also led the founding of the China RISC-V Industry Alliance, which had 204 members by the end of 2025.
業界での地位
VeriSilicon operates in the semiconductor design-services and IP-licensing industry, serving consumer electronics, automotive electronics, computers and peripherals, industrial, data processing, Internet of Things and other markets. Per IPnest data for 2024, the company ranked first in mainland China and eighth globally in semiconductor IP licensing, sixth globally in IP royalty revenue, and among the top two of the world's top-ten IP companies by IP category. The addressable industry has expanded as the number of Chinese chip design companies grew from 736 in 2015 to 3,901 in 2025 (per IBS and an industry association), with China's semiconductor market sized at roughly USD 274.4 billion in 2025 and projected at about USD 373.7 billion by 2030. Its differentiation rests on verified, reusable, cross-node engineering capability and on switching costs that rise once a customer builds a chip on VeriSilicon's IP and platform and enters mass production; system-level customers accounted for about 40% of revenue in 2025 and have stayed above 30% for five consecutive years, while NPU IP and display-processing IP carry ISO 26262 certification. Disclosed competitors include ARM, CEVA, Synopsys, Cadence and Imagination on the IP side, and Zhiyuan, Chuangyi Electronics, Shixin and Canxin on the design-services side; its top five customers represented 45.51% of sales in 2025.
