IQVIA Holdings Inc. provides clinical research services, commercial insights, and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific. This segment also provides country level performance metrics related to sales of pharmaceutical products, prescribing trends, medical treatment, and promotional activity across various channels, including retail, hospital, and mail order; and measurement of sales or prescribing activity at the regional, zip code, and individual prescriber level. The Research & Development Solutions segment offers project management and clinical monitoring; clinical trial support; strategic planning and design services; and patient and site centric solutions, as well as central laboratory, genomic, bioanalytical, ADME, discovery, vaccine and biomarker laboratory services. 沿革

IQVIA Holdings Inc. was formerly known as Quintiles IMS Holdings, Inc. and adopted the IQVIA name in November 2017. The company went public on May 9, 2013 and is based in Durham, North Carolina, employing about 93,000 people. It long reported through three segments — Technology & Analytics Solutions, Research & Development Solutions, and Contract Sales & Medical Solutions — and from January 1, 2026 reorganized along management lines into two reporting segments, Commercial Solutions and Research & Development Solutions, which generated revenue of $1.754 billion and $2.397 billion respectively in Q1 2026. Through ongoing acquisitions between 2021 and 2025, total revenue grew from $13.874 billion in 2021 to $16.310 billion in 2025, while goodwill rose from $13.301 billion to $16.616 billion. 業界での地位

IQVIA is an infrastructure-type provider to the life sciences industry, combining commercial data, technology platforms, consulting and analytics with clinical trial execution, central laboratory and site services rather than operating as a single-purpose CRO or database company. Its customer base is diversified: no single customer accounted for more than 10% of revenue in 2023, 2024, or 2025, and the United States represents about 42% of revenue with no other single country exceeding 10%. Demand visibility is supported by scale, with remaining performance obligations of roughly $34.2 billion at the end of 2025 and R&D Solutions contracted backlog rising from $29.7 billion at year-end 2023 to $31.1 billion in 2024, $32.7 billion in 2025, and $34.2 billion by Q1 2026 on a restated basis. Its differentiation rests on global delivery scale, combined commercial and research data assets, high switching costs from multi-year clinical projects and embedded technology, and regulatory and compliance experience in handling clinical data. Principal competitors include ICON, Medpace, Labcorp Biopharma Laboratory Services, and Fortrea.
