沿革
Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) was founded in 2002 to reduce the cost of space access and make humanity multiplanetary. It evolved from rockets to reusable launch and satellite constellations, winning a $1.6 billion NASA ISS resupply contract in 2008 and a $2.89 billion NASA lunar lander contract in 2021. As a private company it had no public stock; secondary valuations rose from roughly $150 billion at end-2023 to about $400 billion at end-2025. It merged with xAI at a $1.25 trillion valuation in February 2026 and filed an S-1 on May 20, 2026 covering three segments—Space, Connectivity and AI—targeting roughly $1.75 trillion.
業界での地位
SpaceX is the leading commercial space and satellite-connectivity operator, with no directly comparable company because it spans launch, crewed flight, satellite internet, national-security work and AI. As of end-March 2026 it had completed about 620 orbital launches at over 99% mission success and operated roughly 9,600–10,000 satellites; its Starlink network served about 10.3 million users across 164 countries. Falcon 9 carried 69% of all small satellites launched globally in 2020–2024. Its advantages stem from reusability, vertical integration, network scale and deep government ties with NASA and the U.S. Space Force.
