História

Incyte Corporation was incorporated in 1991 in Delaware and completed its IPO on November 4, 1993, initially listing on the American Stock Exchange and later moving to Nasdaq. In its early years the company concentrated almost entirely on information and genomics products such as databases and information services. As demand for research tools weakened and genomic information became increasingly public, Incyte began drug discovery and development in early 2002, renamed itself from Incyte Genomics Inc to Incyte Corporation in March 2003, and in 2004 closed its Palo Alto information-products business, recognizing a $42.1 million restructuring charge to focus on small-molecule drug development. In 2009 it signed an ex-US ruxolitinib collaboration with Novartis and a baricitinib license and development agreement with Lilly. A pivotal milestone came in November 2011 when the FDA approved Jakafi for myelofibrosis, which the company described as the first FDA-approved therapy for the disease. In April 2018 the phase 3 ECHO-301/KEYNOTE-252 trial of epacadostat combined with Keytruda failed and was halted. The company later expanded its portfolio with the 2020 launches of Pemazyre and Monjuvi, the 2021 US approval of Opzelura for atopic dermatitis, and in 2024 the FDA approval of Niktimvo, the acquisition of global exclusive rights to tafasitamab, the acquisition of Escient for $750 million, and an approximately $2 billion Dutch-auction tender repurchase at $60 per share covering 33.326 million shares. In June 2025 Bill Meury succeeded Herve Hoppenot as CEO. Total revenue grew from $1.54 billion in 2017 to $2.67 billion in 2020, $2.891 billion in 2021, $3.4 billion in 2022, $3.7 billion in 2023, $4.2 billion in 2024, and $5.14 billion in 2025. The company is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware and had 2,844 employees.
