История

C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. It went public on October 15, 1997 and developed into an asset-light global logistics and supply chain intermediary, generating revenue not by owning trucks, ships, or aircraft but through matching, pricing, routing, fulfillment, risk management, and supply chain design, earning the adjusted gross profit spread between prices charged to customers and transportation costs paid to carriers. The company is organized into two reporting segments, North American Surface Transportation (NAST) and Global Forwarding, with an additional All Other and Corporate grouping that contains Robinson Fresh, Managed Solutions, and residual items following the divestiture of its European Surface Transportation business, completed in 2025. Its service lines span truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, ocean, air, customs brokerage, and other logistics services, and it also buys, sells, and markets fresh produce under the Robinson Fresh trade name. By 2025 the company generated $16.23 billion in total revenue, managed roughly 37 million shipments, served about 75,000 customers, and connected more than 450,000 contract carriers; in 2025 its adjusted gross profit was about $1.706 billion in NAST, about $742 million in Global Forwarding, and about $281 million in All Other and Corporate. Dave Bozeman became CEO in June 2023.

Положение в отрасли

C.H. Robinson operates in an industry the company itself characterizes in its 2025 10-K as highly competitive and highly fragmented. Its competitors include traditional third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders, asset-based carriers with their own capacity, internet freight platforms, digital brokerage platforms, on-demand transportation providers, and firms that are also its suppliers or customers; publicly traded comparables include Expeditors, Landstar, J.B. Hunt, Hub Group, and RXO, while it also competes against numerous private small and mid-sized forwarders and brokers. The company's scale is a distinguishing feature: in 2025 it managed about 37 million shipments, served roughly 75,000 customers, and connected more than 450,000 contract carriers, producing a large sample of price and capacity data. Both its customer and supplier bases are dispersed: in 2025 its largest customer accounted for about 2% of total revenue while its top 100 customers were about 40% of revenue and about 28% of adjusted gross profit; on the supply side its largest road carrier was less than 1% of total transportation cost, and carriers with fewer than 100 trucks moved about 72% of truckload volume. Its advantages stem from scale, carrier and customer networks, proprietary transaction data, dynamic pricing, and operational execution, sources the company describes in strategy materials emphasizing scale, data, and information advantages plus advanced analytics, visualization, and data-driven pricing. In 2025 NAST volumes outperformed the Cass Freight Index, while global ocean and air volumes declined 4.5% and 11.5% respectively, and as of the first quarter of 2026 NAST had gained market share for 12 consecutive quarters.
