История
Sysco Corporation was incorporated in 1969 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with its IPO dated May 8, 1973. It operates as a foodservice (food-away-from-home) distributor through subsidiaries, reporting across four segments: U.S. Foodservice Operations, International Foodservice Operations, SYGMA, and Other. By fiscal 2025 the company served roughly 730,000 customer locations, ran 337 distribution facilities, operated about 19,000 delivery vehicles, and employed approximately 75,000 people, with sales of about $81.4 billion (up from roughly $52.9 billion in fiscal 2020, including a pandemic-driven dip to $52.89 billion that year). In March 2026 Sysco announced an agreement to acquire Jetro Restaurant Depot at an enterprise value of about $29.1 billion, payable with about $21.6 billion in cash plus 91.5 million Sysco shares and funded in part by roughly $21 billion of new debt; in the same month the company underwent a CFO transition, and in April 2026 it announced a dividend increase while reaffirming its Dividend Aristocrat status.
Положение в отрасли
Sysco positions itself as a leading distributor serving the food-away-from-home industry across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and internationally. Its U.S. Foodservice segment accounted for about 70% of fiscal 2025 sales but roughly 88.8% of segment operating profit, with about 60% of fiscal 2025 sales coming from restaurants; the customer and supplier bases are highly fragmented, with no single customer exceeding 10% of sales and no single supplier exceeding 10% of purchases. The most directly comparable public peers are US Foods and Performance Food Group (PFGC); by scale Sysco's fiscal 2025 sales of about $81.4 billion were well above US Foods' roughly $39.4 billion. The business sits in a low-margin, high-turnover industry (fiscal 2025 gross margin about 18.4%, operating margin about 3.8%, net margin about 2.2%), and its competitive advantages derive from scale and cost (337 distribution facilities, about 19,000 vehicles, and a North American and European procurement and delivery network), one-stop supply and same-day delivery capabilities, operational switching costs in changing suppliers, and private-label penetration—Sysco-brand volume reached about 35.0% of U.S. Broadline cases and about 45.1% among local customers in fiscal 2026 Q3.
