The Performance Materials & Coatings segment provides architectural paints and coatings, and industrial coatings; and acrylics-based building blocks, silicon metals, siloxanes, and intermediates. Dow operates through three reporting segments: Packaging & Specialty Plastics, Industrial Intermediates & Infrastructure, and Performance Materials & Coatings. In 2025 the company recorded sales of about $40 billion, with the three segments generating roughly $19.97 billion, $11.16 billion, and $8.13 billion in revenue (approximately 50% / 28% / 20% of the total); at its 2021 peak, sales reached about $55 billion with Operating EBIT of about $9.5 billion. Through a 2025 cyclical downturn the company took a series of defensive actions: it cut its quarterly dividend by 50% in mid-2025, raised about $3 billion in cash through the Diamond Infrastructure Solutions transactions in 2024-2025, deferred large projects, announced the closure of three upstream assets in Europe, and launched the Transform to Outperform program in 2026 involving about 4,500 roles. Effective July 1, 2026, Karen S. Carter is to become CEO and Jim Fitterling is to transition to executive chairman. As of the latest data the company employed about 34,600 people.
