The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. T-Mobile US, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG.

The company provides wireless communications services across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands under the T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, and Mint Mobile brands. Following its 2020 merger with Sprint, T-Mobile expanded beyond mobile into 5G home broadband, reaching 8.5 million 5G home broadband customers and 142.4 million total customers by year-end 2025. In November 2025, Srini Gopalan became CEO, with Mike Sievert moving to Vice Chairman.
